And when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Revelation 17:6 ...'and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And Rev 17:7 ….And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

Now John is in amazement, NOT because of the beast, which he knows, but because of the Women (Church). This Women looked Majestic and Grand and was full of riches. This is NOT the Church he know, not the Church started by Jesus the Messiah.

AND, he was in amazement because of the verse in full… "I saw the Women drunken with the blood of the saints, and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus' and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration." John already saw GREAT persecution of God's people at the hands of then Pagan Rome. So for him to see an actual "professing" church of Jesus doing the persecution and killing of God's people he was Astonished!

Can you imagine how perplexing that was to him. How could this Church that makes these claims to worship Jesus, be so inhumane and cruel to God's very own people. It brings light to this verse here in John… "They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service." John 16:2

The Roman Catholic Church called anyone who would not bow to the Pope's authority a 'Heretic' and they believed they should be killed. And this is why more than 50 million were slaughter and burned to death. This is History and this is Prophecy!

And lastly, what is the one church that people around the world, would look at with Awe and Wonder?! MILLIONS of people flock to the Vatican each year and wonder at the "Majesty" and "Splendor" of her, with St Peter's Basilica being the largest church building in the world. This last Catholic Jubilee year in 2016 bought over 20 Million tourist to Rome! Think about that! So once again, I do believe this to be another marker for Mystery Babylon.

Be a Berean!
