Nimrod (Post 9)

Nimrod was a very significant man! The grandson of Ham and great-grandson of Noah. He was known as a mighty hunter and a strong leader. Nimrod became the most feared man in the land.
He was the founder of the first world empire at Babel, later known as Babylon, also ancient Nineveh, and many other cities.

The name Nimrod, in Hebrew, is derived from "Marad," meaning "he rebelled". From many ancient writings, it is believed that Nimrod started the great organized worldly apostasy from God that has dominated this world until now.

He was so vile, it is said he married his own mother, whose name was Semiramis. After Nimrod's untimely death, his so-called mother-wife, Semiramis, propagated the evil doctrine of the survival of Nimrod as a spirit being.

She claimed a full-grown evergreen tree sprang overnight from a dead tree stump, which symbolized the springing forth unto new life the dead Nimrod. On each anniversary of his birth, she claimed, Nimrod would visit the evergreen tree and leave gifts upon it. December 25th was the birthday of Nimrod. This is believed to be the origin of the Christmas tree.

It was not long after the death of her husband that Semiramis became pregnant. She said that when Nimrod died that he went up to the sun, and the sun then became a symbol of Nimrod. She told the people that a ray of the sun had come to her and impregnated her with a child and that it was actually Nimrod coming back in a reincarnation of the sun god. The child was called Tammuz and these three were worshiped as the personification of the sun god, and this is where we find the three in one trinity doctrine originated and is where the first three came into existence.

After her death, Semiramis was worshiped as the "Queen of Heaven", and Nimrod, under various names, became the "divine son of heaven". Nimrod became the false messiah, son of Baal the Sun-god. And the beginning of sun worship was in full swing. It caught on fast and spread to many parts of the world. In Egypt, Semiramis became known as “Isis”, “The Queen of Heaven.” Nimrod became known as “Osiris”, the husband/son, and frequently called “Horus” (the sun god). In Phoenicia, Semiramis and Nimrod were worshiped as or known as Ashterath and Tammuz, Aphrodite and Eros in Greece, Fortuna and Jupiter in Rome, and so on.
